Class 37 Orientation

Updated: Aug 27, 2023

Class 37's Orientation was incredible fun! The cohort met at Holy Cross Hall in Santa Cruz to get to know each other and learn more about the year ahead. Special thanks to sponsor Janet Janssen for managing the Linguini and Marshmallow Tower Team Building exercise. The room hummed with all the interactions and budding friendships as we engaged in this exercise building their towers.

"This ice breaker is designed to connect people to open up and feel comfortable with each other as they capitalize on their leadership skills. It is a fun exercise that helps demonstrate the importance of team building. We learn how communication and listening skills increase the team's ability to achieve their end goal and demonstrate how creativity and innovative ideas provide team camaraderie and insights for successful outcomes," said Janet.

Incoming class member Christopher Bradford said, "What an excellent experience I had connecting with other folks who expressed a deep care for the people of the county at the Leadership Santa Cruz County orientation! Together we will gain a deeper understanding of the variety of facets in our county, connect with leaders, and so much more. This group is diverse, creative, professional, and I'm looking forward to learning from and connecting with every single person in it. It's going to be a great year!" Thank you to dinner sponsor Gabriel Zamarripa and Taquizas Gabriel. Gabriel is truly a community hero, and if you have a chance, please stop by his truck or visit his shop at the Capitola Mall and enjoy some tacos. We look forward to connecting again at Mount Hermon for the 2-day Retreat on September 14th and 15th.

Additional thanks to Alexis Party Rentals and Felton Safeway for their contributions.
